The McHenry Pigtail League has limited equipment for each team to share.  However, for safety and sanitary reasons, we highly recommend each player provide their own equipment.  Below is a list and explanation of everything they'll need for a successful season.  Each of these items can be purchased at Play it Again Sports in Crystal lake-used and new equipment (mention McHenry Pigtail League at Play it Again and you will receive 15% off your entire purchase), Dick's Sporting Goods, Meijer and online.
                                 

Softball Glove - Each player will need their own softball glove.  For young players and new players, we highly recommend purchasing a used glove.  The benefit of this is it will most likely already be broken in, which helps little hands be able to close their glove around a ball.   Examples of youth softball gloves below.

Softball Cleats
While not mandatory, each player should have a pair of cleats for safe traction in the field and running bases.  No metal cleats.  Below are some examples of softball cleats.

                      


Softball Pants
The league provides each player a uniform shirt and two pair of matching softball socks.  Each player will, however, need to provide their own black softball pants.   Examples below.


                                    


Fielder's Face Mask
Every fielding position in the league requires a face mask.  This is one of the items the league will provide to be shared.  As stated above, we highly recommend each player purchase their own face mask due to sanitary reasons.  Examples of youth face masks below.


                                                                                        


Batting Helmet with Face Mask
Another item every player will need.  The league can also provide shared batting helmets, but as stated above, highly recommends each player provide their own.  Examples of batting helmets below.


                                                               


Softball Bat

*Multi walled bats are not allowed in McHenry Pigtail League.  All bats must be ASA/NSA/USSSA approved.
